In consideration to the COVID-19 pandemic government regulations like the curfew, the restrictions of movements, it was noted that some groups/clusters of persons were in a risk of not getting food. Through the Chief for Biashara location, we identified 300 families which needed support in terms of food. These were the elderly, the disabled and the vulnerable in the communities living in Thika Town and its environs. In April 2020, CIL donated 600 food ration packs: 2 for each of the families.
