CIL requested that 20% of the donation made to the National COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund (4m worth of Soko Maize Meal) be directed to Kiambu County where the company is based. Additionally, CIL donated 2m worth of Capwell Food Ration Packs to Kiambu County targeting the vulnerable, elderly communities in the county. Each family will receive 1 ration pack to cushion them from the adverse effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
